News & Updates Thanks to everyone for another wonderful conference! Special thanks to our speakers, sponsor and the University of Washington for hosting. And double thanks to all of you who attended and shared your experiences and expertise.
Hello and goodbye...
APRA-NW is pleased to announce our two newest board members, Mary Gatlin of the University of Oregon and Mela Collins of Seattle Children's Hospital. Mary is our new Mentor Chair while Mela takes over Membership Chair duties. Props also to our newest President and former Member Chair, Jessica Balsam of the University of Washington!
Of course, with the excitement of new members comes the bittersweet farewell to our exiting colleagues, Betsy Cooper and Amanda Jarman. Both of these fine women have done a fantastic job leading APRA-NW and we thank them for their hard work and dedication to both our profession and regional comraderie.
Welcome Alaska! APRA-NW is extremely happy to announce that our chapter now includes Alaska! Thanks to the initiative and moxie of APRA-NW member, Candice Krupa of the University of Alaska Foundation in Fairbanks, Alaskans will now have access to the virtual seminars and other networking opportunities previously only available in the lower 48. As our first Regional Representative, Candice is working hard to create a network of prospect researchers and other development officers throughout the state (have you looked at a map? It's HUGE!). Thank you Candice and welcome all Alaskans! What is a Regional Representative? Regional representatives work with the board to coordinate APRA-NW events and encourage local participation and membership in areas outside the Seattle and Portland hubs of our chapter. If you are interested in becoming a regional representative, contact the APRA-NW Board President.
